We always tie our Tea Time Tuesday read aloud to curricular expectations or character development. Beautifully, "Wonder" allows us to do both. As we learn more and more about August Pullman, the main character, we are gradually more exposed to his craniolfacial disfigurement, and other health issues. Hopefully, this book will make us more aware and more empathetic to the challenges that others face, on a daily basis. Courage, exclusion, friendship, and standing-up are just a few of the themes we will encounter on our journey.
Today, we viewed this video to introduce us to people who have had similar experiences to Augusts'.
Students are asked to respond to today's reading in our Google Classroom. Please don't forget.
