WORDS OF HOPE FOR KELLEN

We were invited to join the Words for Hope project, led by Matthew Shchukovsky, from Munden Park Public School in Mississauga.  Mr. Shchukovsky and his class have united students from across Canada to send strength, support and hope to children diagnosed with a life threatening illness.  In his own words,

"It's an initiative that pairs elementary school classrooms with children across Canada who are facing life threatening illnesses, and allows the students to form a connection by writing letters and get well cards."

Students made these cards and wrote Words of Hope for Kellen, a seven year old boy from the East Coast.  When Kellen was diagnosed with leukemia, he had to move to Toronto for treatment.  My students have shown much compassion for Kellen who had to leave his school, hometown, and friends behind to fight this terrible disease.  Some of their letters are so very moving and all of them are sure to make Kellen and his family smile.

I did scan all the cards to share with you, but unfortunately when I rotated the scanned photos, the quality of the photo was changed in a way that makes it impossible to share them on the blog.  The cards were put in an envelop today to be Purolatored to Munden Park School, so I cannot scan them again.  Sorry that I am unable to share them here with you.  I did have the following photos on my camera.
