Ancient Greece....And Some Snowday Fun

In case you have already read last Friday's post, I wanted to let you know that I added samples of student work, so you may want to revisit it and THINK PINK!  Sorry some of the photos are not as clear as I would like them.  I am very pleased with the emotion and thought that went into writing these poems.  Mrs. Czerny, our supply teacher on Friday afternoon, completed the activity with the children.  Well done, everyone!  Hopefully the missing t-shirts will be completed soon and make their way to our post.  As you may have noticed, we need to focus on peer and self editing to help eliminate some of our errors.  Click on individual photos to enlarging them so you can read the poems.

During art this week, students drew and decorated ancient Greek pottery.  All the drawings were made on orange construction paper to represent the clay and the drawings were done in black ink, to obtain the affect the ancient Greeks had when they baked their pottery. Today during computer time, students researched their chosen vessel to learn how they were used. I should be able to add pictures to this post soon.  So make sure you revisit to see your child's work.

You can make your own Greek pottery online.  Just click the link and follow the instructions!
