Students had fun presenting their Reader's Theatre. I was amazed at the quality of their presentations, considering they received the plays on Tuesday, and presented on Wednesday morning. They worked on expression, gestures, voice, actions and eye contact for dramatic effect. We found wonderful music to match each script, and played it in the background, for effect.

Mackenzie and Rozlyn have been hard at work creating and directing an artistic interpretation of the school pledge. We are working hard to be ready to submit our video for the competition on February 24th. We hope to win the class pizza party. Thank you ladies for your dedication to this extra-curricular event!
Friday morning, we had guest artist, Ayrlie from Creative Conscious Community, to help inspire our creative minds and expression. Ayrlie guided us through the art of collage to prepare our entries for
The Magic of Children's Art Exhibit. Our art will be on display at the Collingwood Public Library from March 4 - April 28th. Be sure to visit the exhibit and celebrate our creative young artists! The photos do not do the art justice, but will give you an idea of what to expect. Mme Carter's class prepared water colours, and Mrs. Halligan's class also made collages. The four themes represented are: 1. Portraits
2. Nature & Animals
3. Imaginary Worlds
4. Landscapes. Make sure your child visits the library on April 2 for awards day!
- Awards Day: Saturday April 2, 2016. Pick up your prize and celebrate! Music, snacks and activities.
Each student gave their art a title and wrote an artist statement describing the story their art tells. To read their stories, you will have to visit the display!

HAYDEN! I AM SO SORRY! I DON'T HAVE A PHOTOGRAPH OF YOUR ART! I WAS WAITING FOR YOU TO ADD YOUR FINAL TOUCHES, THEN I MUST HAVE FORGOTTEN TO GO BACK AND TAKE A PICTURE. PLEASE FORGIVE ME. ALL THE MORE REASON TO VISIT THE EXHIBIT.
P.S. In case you heard the story...my finger is fine. I went to Emergency and had the wound irrigated and closed. I was given a tetanus shot, so I am ready to do some more paper cutting...I will be more cautious with that evil device.
