English Reading Responses
Students have written responses to the book, "Fatty Legs", a non-fiction experience of a young girl in a residential school, in the 1940's.
They are responding to the question: If you were Olemaun, would you return to the Outsiders' school with your sisters? (Answer. Prove. Extend.). I love how students are thinking beyond the text, and making connections to their own experiences, feelings and beliefs. They are proving that reading is thinking!
