Students who are struggling with our current text continue to practice reading from a text that is less challenging, focusing on reading fluency. I read Le mystère du jeune pharaon to them and explain the text so they have the same information as the rest of the class.

Pratiquez, pratiquez, pratiquez!
I fully encourage students to practice reading French, at home, on a daily basis, as well as squeeze in 20 minutes of English reading per day too. I am posting videos of the readings so students can read along, or listen for the correct pronunciation of words. Please encourage your child to read aloud so he or she builds his/her fluency and comfort level when reading in French. In class, students read from Le mystère du jeune pharaon, using the glossary to help them understand challenging words. They are expected to use a variety of reading comprehension strategies to help them understand the text. Once they have completed the reading, they answer some short questions to reinforce their learning and to ensure comprehension.
