What a whirlwind today turned out to be! We barely got to know each other's names before Mrs. Lashley showed up to take the class to physical education. Then they headed to their first assembly and before we knew it, it was break time. After break we had time to discuss our Ideal Classroom, create and sign our Class Agreement (please ask your child to explain the Agreement),and then divide into blended groups for math. During the last block we had time for tea and to begin our first read aloud novel, Wonder. We discussed the book made some connections and then switched to a French picture book. The day flew by!
It has been great meeting so many new students! We have students joining us from Cameron, Connaught, Worsely, Birchview Dunes, Bing and Admiral. I am so excited to get to know your child much better over the next few weeks and to work with him/her (or both) over the next school year. Please ask you child to share their Welcome To Room 205 letter with you.
Tomorrow, I look forward to leading some more activities to help students get to know each other better and to help them feel more comfortable in our classroom.
